If you are traveling from a visa-free country, all you need is a valid passport from your country of origin; but you have to be aware that if your passport has a stamp of Israel, you won’t be allowed to pass the borders. Costs vary depends on the country the traveler comes from and you can simply pay for your visa at the airport.
On the border of Iran, you will be asked if you already have Iran visa or want to get a VOA. In case of VOA, you have to tell your nationality and fill up an application form. You pay the fee in cash which starts from 50$ and can change up to 120$. The process can take between 20 minutes to 2 hours, when your turn comes they will call your name and return your passport with your visa on it.
