Ramsar is the last city in west of Mazandaran province. people also call it “The bride of Northern cities of Iran”. The reason that they gave this nickname to Ramsar is because of it’s beautiful nature and the development it had during Pahlavi dynasty. Ramsar hotel, Caspian watch museum and the highest natural background radiation on Earth are some of the reasons that makes this city the most popular city of northern Iran.
Except developed urban areas, Ramsar has got many beautiful natural villages for those who aren’t fan of spending their vacation in town.
The most beautiful summer – quarter area of Iran is Javaher Deh with it’s beautiful nature and all mineral water springs.
Javaher deh or Jeor deh is the most popular summer-quart area of Ramsar. The weather in this village is amazing specially in seasons like Spring and Summer. There are different opinions about the name of this village. Some say the original name of the village was “Jeordeh” (means: A place with good weather) and it have changed during time; but others, and specially archaeologists, say the original name was “Javaherdeh“. This is because there was the tradition of burying the dead with valuable stones in this village.
The most visited monument of this village is Adineh mosque. The mosque was actually a Zoroastrian temple in the past.
So if you like to relax in nature, we recommend you to visit and camp in this village.
Ramsar hotel is one of the most famous hotels in the middle east. The hotel was built in Reza Pahlavi’s period in the center of Ramsar city. It has a beautiful view of Ramsar boulevard and Ramsar jungles.
Markuh castle, located in Ramsar, goes back to ancient periods after Islam. The castle was residence of Mard tribes; and due to this reason, they named it “Mardkuh” castle, and in years it altered to “Markuh“. It’s said that the castle is a 600 square meters area that you can easily house a hundreds of soldiers in it.
If you stand at the top of the castle you can have a 360 degree view of Ramsar. It is better to visit the castle on clear days to see the beach line and the jungles vividly.
There is a mountain in Tonekabon, called Markuh. And there are numerous crypts and moths in these crypts that hit themselves to you and the light with you and prevent you from entering the crypts. Above that mountain, it is a place called “Naqreh Khaneh“. Whenever a rock hits it, it sounds like a drum and the sounds can be heard from 6 kilometers away.
“Muhammad Hassan Khan Etemad -ol- Sataneh”
Here is one of the most beautiful cable car transport lines in the world. You have a view of Ramsar and Chaboksar cities, Caspian sea in north and beautiful virgin jungles in south.
At the end of the line you can see the Telecabine station coming out from the clouds. The entrance fee is 3.5$ and every round costs 1$. Ramsar cable car is one of the most popular attractions of this city; and we strongly recommend you to try it at least once and enjoy the magnificent nature of this place!
